Raksha Bandhan otherwise called Rakhi implies an obligation of insurance. Different people group commend this celebration as a common one. On this day, Jain ministers offer strings to the lovers. The Brahmins in North India change their Janai on this event. The celebration falls on the full moon day (Shravan Purnima) of the Shravan month. This year Raksha Bandhan will be commended on seventh August.

Significance


This old Hindu celebration ceremonially commends the affection and duty amongst siblings and their sisters. The sister plays out a rakhi custom and appeals to express her affection and her desire for the prosperity of her sibling; consequently, the sibling customarily promises to secure and deal with his sister through various challenges. This one celebration confirms the family ties in India. One of the legendary stories behind the celebration clarifies the time when Lord Indra lost a war and was so troubled about it that he griped to Brihaspati (pioneer of the Gods). Brihaspati then arranged a raksha sutra and instructed him to wear it for assurance.
